Inter Milan will continue to use defence as the best form of attack as former Bayern Munich defender Lucio said the Serie A champions have been instructed by coach Jose Mourinho to continue with their tactics that brought them success previously.

The Bayern Munich official website reported Lucio as having said: “Mourinho wants us to play defensively and to be fully concentrated throughout the game. It has worked brilliantly against Chelsea and Barcelona. If each player in the side plays well, we will win.”
Lucio has played an integral part in Inter Milan’s success in both the Serie A and Champions League this season after he was signed from Bayern Munich. The departure from the Bundesliga side was somewhat acrimonious but the player now insists that everything was behind him and spoke well about his former club.
“In such a final everything can happen. Bayern are a great team and they have done brilliantly to get to the final,” Lucio said.
“(Louis) Van Gaal has done a great job, and has brought through some great new players. Robben and Olic are on great form. We need to be aware that the whole team is on such great form.”
Lucio did not play under Van Gaal as the Dutch coach only arrived at the start of this season. However, the Brazilian was quickly deemed surplus to requirements before being unceremoniously dumped by the incoming manager. But the defender has quickly regained his reputation as one of the best players in his position and has always been noted for his clever distribution from the back when foraying up the pitch.
